My name is Sheldon Heppner and I am a full time graphic designer and painter. I was born on the West Coast and have resided in many parts of Canada, in southern California and as a young child spent three years with my family in the rural province of Alsace - Lorraine, in France. I have lived in British Columbia since the 1970's and the breathtaking natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest continues to bring me a great deal of pleasure as well as unending ideas for my paintings. Our winter home and studio/gallery on a hillside near Chilliwack, B.C. overlooks the lovely emerald green Fraser Valley and the white snow-capped mountains beyond and is only an hour and a half from the most beautiful city in the world - Vancouver, and a 7 1/2 hour journey to Savary Island.
Savary Island, and our summer cottage/gallery/coffee shop close to Indian Point and just a short walk away from the white sandy beaches is my real 'home'. Since my first unforgettable visit there in 1974 with my life partner, Mindy, the incredible scenery on and around this magical island has supplied me with unlimited inspiration. I love attempting to capture small vignettes of Savary's tranquil scenery on watercolor paper and on canvas. I have traveled to many wonderful places, but to me, Savary Island is that 'special place'.
My paintings and other works are in homes and businesses around the world, and positive comments from my customers make me very happy. All my paintings are originals and are sold single-matted and framed
(I do not sell copies or so-called limited edition prints of my work). Packing & shipping can be arranged worldwide as well. I also do portraits and welcome your commissions. All my artwork is sold on a 100% satisfaction guaranteed basis and if you see a painting of mine in the future that you would like to own, if you wish, I may even accept your original purchase in partial trade at its original price.
